Riverhead Town and New York State Police are investigating the robbery of an East Main Street bank Friday afternoon.
Police were called down to the Capital One Bank about 3:40 p.m., said Lt. David Lessard. According to police, a white man in a dark sweatshirt, in his late 20s to early 30s, gave a note to a teller demanding money. He reportedly left with an undetermined amount of cash.
A state police K-9 unit is on scene, and no arrests have been made.
Lt. Lessard said it appears that no weapon was used in the robbery and no one was injured in the incident. No additional information about the robbery was available.
