A Wading River man was arrested Wednesday night on arson charges for allegedly vandalizing a Port Jefferson restaurant earlier this month, according to a Suffolk County police press release.
Brian Colantropo, 34, entered the outdoor back patio section of Tommy’s Place on March 1 at around 2:30 a.m. and kicked in the rear door, officials said. He used his lighter to burn several holes in a rear outdoor awning, police said.
Mr. Colantropo was charged with fifth-degree arson, fourth-degree criminal mischief and third-degree criminal trespassing, officials said.
He is scheduled to be arraigned at a later date.
